A couple addenda to "Pandemic and pandemonium"
Just to clarify, I’m not trying to infect Southern Vermont: I’m self-isolating at home, including totally avoiding contact with the town. Won’t be out in public for two weeks (except maybe things like hikes and bike rides with no stops in structures). If you’re going from a “hot spot” to anywhere else, please do things like this to avoid being a vector, and go for the least crowded transport you can (I was lucky enough to have a family pickup truck I could use to drive solo).
Avoid NSAIDs, probably: That’s things like aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), and that whole class of drugs. France’s health minister is saying it makes some symptoms worse. Apparently the evidence is still uncertain for COVID and there’s some disagreement, but this thing is moving faster than our certainty so I think avoidance is the right move until proven otherwise. Why not, right?
The general advice to act like you (and everyone you meet) might be carrying it until you know you/they aren’t, and that seems good.
